Well Child Counseling and Consulting was founded in 2022 by Anna Trietley to provide specialized clinical services, supervision, and professional training for therapists working with children and families.
Anna is a graduate of Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. She holds licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) in North Carolina, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC, LPCS) in South Carolina, and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. She is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) through the Association for Play Therapy.
Anna has over 15 years of clinical experience specializing in child and adolescent play therapy, infant mental health, trauma, co-parenting, and faith integration in clinical practice. She is trained in Theraplay Level One and holds certification as a Foundational Practitioner. In 2010 she completed a fellowship through ZFive in Mecklenburg County, specializing in infant and young child mental health. She has trained law enforcement, social workers, and early childhood professionals on the effects of toxic stress on infants and young children, and has worked alongside uniformed law enforcement through the Child Development-Community Policing Program serving children and families exposed to trauma and violence.
Well Child Counseling and Consulting is an APT Approved Provider (Provider #26-814) authorized to offer continuing education in play therapy through March 2027.
Anna provides clinical supervision for pre-licensed and associate licensed counselors in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Colorado, and RPT supervision and consultation nationwide for play therapists pursuing or maintaining their APT credential. She has supervised numerous associate-licensed therapists to full licensure and has supported many clinicians through the RPT credentialing process. Faith-integrated supervision is available for clinicians who want a supervisor who honors both their clinical training and their Christian faith.
In addition to her clinical and supervisory work, Anna serves as an adjunct instructor in the Behavioral Health Sciences department at Grand Canyon University. She is the founder of the Christian Play Therapist Collective (CPTC), a professional community for Christian play therapists integrating faith and evidence-based practice. She currently serves as President of the North Carolina Association for Play Therapy (NCAPT).
Anna believes that children and families deserve clinicians who are well-trained, well-supervised, and grounded in a clear professional identity. That conviction shapes everything she does - from her clinical work to the way she shows up as a supervisor, educator, and advocate for the profession.
